Does anyone remember that youtube Minecraft series called ‘Farlands or Bust’?
Did the guy ever make it to the farlands?
I looked it up, and the guy who’s doing it has reached Episode 539, released yesterday, and no, he hasn’t reached the farlands.
I’m rooting for him.
Holy crap that’s like the One Piece of a video series kudos to that guy
Wait, does that mean he hasn’t been updating his Minecraft for years? Cause they got rid of the farlands years ago.
He hasn’t updated - and he’s been doing it all for charity iirc
What’s the farlands
In versions of Minecraft pre1.8 beta, the farlands was essentially the “edge” of the map, where the terrain and biomes won’t load properly. It looks something like this:
What a champion.
Kurtjmac is his channel, go check him out~
Fun Fact: Endermen were originally going to be called ‘Farlanders’ and came from here, the ‘End’ of the Minecraft World
Please go support Kurtjmac. He’s a really funny guy and all proceeds of Far Lands or Bust go to Child’s Play Charity, which gives toys, books and games to hospitals worldwide. He raised over 100,000 dollars last season, culminating in a FLOBathon where he livestreams the event! He has yet to die in this series, and has a little minecraft wolf named Wolfie that tags along with him. He talks about current events and space news in a sort of podcast like way, so if youve got time, go check him out!
Its been theorized it’ll take him another 20 years to make it there, without cheats or the nether, and you can already start to see the game breaking around him. As a long time supporter, please go watch an episode or two
Hey there! I feel like we need to talk about captions and subtitles on videos. A few months back I enabled the open source, fan made subtitle feature thingy on my videos so that people could contribute and help those who needed captions to watch my content. I would love to be able to caption all my videos as I know there are people in the community who really need them and rely on them but it’s a huge undertaking to do, so I opened it up to you guys to help out and be part of the videos a bit more.
However, some people have taken it upon themselves to taint them and add either their own commentary to my content or to even self promote in them now. Either be adding their own funny text, interpretations or answers to what I already say in the video or downright just saying “please sub to X”. I did not enable the feature for it to be abused like this. It was done for a legit reason and out of respect for those who requested subtitles.
I know many of you here who read this aren’t the ones doing this and are very respectful of the captions on content but if you’re someone who likes to add in their own flavour text to content, please keep in mind that this is a valuable resource for many and in doing so you confuse and spoil it. I want to get my thoughts on this out there because it is not ok! and this not only goes for my content but many other youtubers too. Let’s keep the captions clean and accurate so we can all enjoy the same, equal content as each other :)
So I finally drove the 4 hours up to Confusion Hill to see Bill Cipher with my sister. It was actually a really pretty drive so it went by fast and we wondered if it would be hard to find the tree that Bill was on once we got there.
But no super easy this is the view from where I parked (above) and you basically turn to the parking lot and yup there’s Bill. You really can’t miss him. So my sister @waterxharuka and I took some picture of and with Bill.
Then went to find the chest. Luckily a few days before leaving for the trip I twitted the mayor of gravity falls and asked where she put the chest and she told me it was under the golden pig in the gift shop. When you enter the gift shop you see…
…see this so it wasn’t hard to find the chest at all.
I forgot to take pictures inside the chest but I guess what’s inside will always be changing anyways. I had brought a notebook (shown bellow) for people could write anything they wanted and for it to stay with the chest
and when I opened the chest there were two other notebooks already in the chest. So hopefully the word will get spread around because I hadn’t heard of anyone leaving a notebook in there before. I only heard of the idea of it but there is one for writing more of your name and the date, another that looked like Journal 3 to write and draw whatever you want…and now mine. I wrote in mine if someone wanted to take it they could since there are already two in there but if they want to leave it for if one notebook gets full eventually they could. But anyways so my sister and I took some things from it:
and left a mug and some key chains for the next cipher hunter
and then we explored the rest of Confusion Hill. And I have to tell you I have a new understanding of what the Mystery Shack is and feels like after being there. It was a total rip off but also hilarious and worth it. My sister and I were laughing at everything like the pet rock prison, or the free exhibit that didn’t always work but it didn’t matter because it always worked, and the really really old Reese I bought for a snack that did not taste very good anymore. I feel like I finally understand what the Mystery Shack really is now.
We then said our goodbyes to Bill and started our drive home in hopes of missing holiday traffic (it was the day before Thanksgiving). Overall it was a fun experience and I’m glad I made the trip. I know not everyone who would want to go can make it there because of how far they live but I hope this gives you a small glimmer of what it was like there and an update that Bill is still doing well in a tree but still hatless. Lastly I letting @hollycrowned know that I have now made this post and they may summarize it or reblog or do whatever they want to spread this info since I find them really helpful for Gravity Falls updates especially during the Cipher Hunt. Stay Weird everyone.
My fucking childhood in one post omg the only thing missing is Star Wars and Disney.
I forgot those damn BLUE CUBE BLOCKS that was meant to “help” with math. It only added pressure when I dropped them and couldn’t find a block to get. the. right. answer!
Hey Scarlet. I've always been thrown to the friend-zone, cuz I can't talk good with girls and i don't know how to aproach. I'm also that "old-fashioned" guy who likes to take things to a date first. But can never find the courage to ask anyone out.
Well Ecaxas, you haven’t exactly given me a question, more a list of personal grievances with your situation. Let me see if I can still help you.
Love is a powerful motivation. We all crave it, we all need it. We seek affirmation and acceptance. We want to feel there are those, if not at least one other person who admires us and makes us feel needed and wanted. To feel special. This desire is universal no matter what culture or creed we are from. It’s not unreasonable to feel upset at ourselves when faced with loneliness, thinking and feeling there is something wrong with us as an explanation as to why we don’t have what society tells us is freely available if we seek it. Loneliness can birth many dark emotions that we turn inwardly, that is simply because we’re a social animal. Even the most introverted among us still craves contact and acknowledgment.
All that being said, it is my philosophy that love starts within. No matter what, there must be some love you have for yourself. If you’re unhappy with things you’ve done or what you’ve become you have to work through that. We can’t undo your past, that’s impossible. The only thing acceptable is then to take steps to alter what you are now. If you’re upset that other people are being “lovey dovey” while you don’t have someone like that to be with, recognize that is a purely external thing. If you’re upset that you seem unable to get a date, then get out there and do something about that! You’re nervous, and guess what? So are thousands and thousands of more people out there. In fact, for those who have used online dating services worldwide, 1/3 reports to having successful encounters, 1/3 report to having bad ones and 1/3 give up before they even have their first date set up online.
Face your fears, the worst that can happen if you begin asking people out is that someone will say no. That’s fine, there are millions more out there looking for someone just like you. As my grandmother used to say, you can’t win the lottery if you don’t buy a ticket.
If you need more specific advice, I’m here and I’ll gladly give it. Same goes to anyone else trying to overcome their fears about dating. I wish you the best in finding your “älskar dig”.
