Hey guys, I hate to announce this but I won’t be able to make new art for at least 3 weeks
Someone broke into our house earlier today, they got in through my bedroom while me and my family went out to the dentist for only an hour
They took our TV, a bunch of old phones and camera, an old monitor I had laying on a desk and my drawing tablet. My PC was laying on my bed with most of its cords unplugged, it looks like they tried to take it but for whatever reason they didn’t
Police found some fingerprints but they can only find a suspect IF they were arrested before and are in their database, so it’s not very helpful
I’ll be able to buy a new tablet next week when the patreon pledges for next month go through, and then it will take one or two weeks for the tablet to arrive, so no art until then :/

Artist friends, let me just tell you a thing. FUCK Wacom. Fuck Wacom and their planned obsolescence, fuck Wacom and their broken drivers, fuck Wacom and their over-priced tablets. For years we’ve dealt with them with no alternatives but let me tell you a thing.
I recently found out my Intuos 4′s Pen had broken and rather than spend £60-89 for a new one I decided to get a new tablet. Now, I could get the new “Intuos” (which is just the re-branded Bamboo) and i was going to until I found this beast.
This is the Huion
H610, it has almost twice the drawing space of the low-end Intuos and double the pressure levels. The one and only negative is that the pen requires a battery.
Not only that, it is larger than my Intuos 4 which I paid £150 for back in the day. Know how much this cost? £55. The same as the basic Intuos.
I am in LOVE with this thing. Let’s compare this with the lowest of the low end Wacom Intuos line.

It’s time Wacom had some real competition in the market, if you’re looking for a new tablet please consider a Huion over a Wacom. I used to be a Wacom fanboy too but now?
All I can find is good reviews on this thing and people doing the same thing I am doing, trying to convince people it’s worth it. So… You have the information, use it as you will.
I have the H610 S and works like a dream! Outside of some minor issues that my own had with firealpaca (which was probably me installing the drivers wrong) it has been perfect!
Well, this is a weird twist in the “trans military ban” story - Trump never actually discussed anything with the Department of Defense or issued any kind of formal order. He just impulse-tweeted that trans people were banned. So for the moment, there’s no actual policy change and trans people are still allowed, with trans healthcare still covered by military plans.

I work at the Sega of America, doing some works for the Sonic Team,
and sometimes some works for the Sonic the Hedgehog social media, as a freelancer 3D artist.
It’s a job that I like to do, but it has always been more like a secondary thing or a
hobbie, because as much as I wanted, it is not something that
give enough return to be my main job, maybe you understand how it is. For
these reasons my main job was on the Archie Comics, where I worked for
about 2 years, which also was a very pleasant place to work, but that
ended up canceling the comics where I worked. I’ve been trying to look for some other main jobs, without much success, because
in addition to being very rare to find any online application to what I
do, on the few occasions where I
found something, and get an
answer, I get refused by
presence
issues,
because most studios want employees to work within the company,
and considering that I live in Brazil, I can only work through the Internet. Since then, I have been looking for any kind of work, mainly because my financial situation is not okay, and I even
thought about making commissions, or a patreon, however,
I could not
get initiative to making them,
once it can end up leaving me in the same situation that I’m already.
So, as a last resort, I wanted to see if anyone knows, or meet someone who knows, of somewhere that is looking for freelance artists.
Because this would help me a lot.

This whole “trust Tumblr blindly” thing is eventually going to kill someone, as I became pointedly aware of on one occasion I was making fun of how poorly a particular bleach-based drain declogger was working on my sink and got a chorus of really dangerously misinformed people telling me to pour vinegar in after it because all cute little cool kid diy home care blogs they’re following talk about vinegar like it it’s the big secret the cleaning companies don’t want you to know.
And I cringed knowing that someday, some Well Actually expert who read a blog article once is going to give that advice to someone who unfortunately didn’t take high school chemistry and isn’t aware that MIXING VINEGAR AND BLEACH MAKES CHLORINE GAS.
