Sonic Series Appreciation Week, Day 2: The Blue Blur

So, uh, Sonic. My favorite character of Literally Everything. I’m not actually sure what to say here that hasn’t already been said by others today, and better than I could - he’s an adventurer, enthusiastic, friendly, has that clear optimism, and he likes chili dogs. But he’s also a guy of many complexities that I actually think most people don’t seem to give him enough credit for. He will fight for what’s right, but it’s also what he believes is right, and there may be people who don’t share those same views. He’s forgiving and doesn’t hold grudges, but he is also willing to take out anyone who hits a particular nerve with him. He obsesses over freedom to an almost selfish degree, and probably prizes it above all else. So overall, a pretty developed and multidimensional boy who’s ready to save the day but will also not take anyone’s shit. And finally, he’s not shy of showing off how Awesome and Perfect his name is. I respect that.

He is Our Hero for a good reason, and is someone who continues to inspire kids and adults alike to this day. Thanks, Sonic. I can’t wait for your new adventure.
