_{Sonic Appreciation Week, Day Two || The Blue Blur: Growing up, Sonic was my absolute favorite character. I’d found him when I was about seven years old, perhaps younger, and completely latched onto him. He was such a good role model for me at the time, since I had been struggling with a hard and unsafe home environment. The adventures he & his friends went on became my safe place, but Sonic specifically– he became my best friend. He was everything I wanted to be at the time. Strong and kind, unbothered. Free to live how he wanted. I intensely looked up to him, and I suppose in a way, I still do. He’ll always have a place in my heart, and many others, for being such an iconic character.}
