The Oblivion lockpicking game was accurate?!
Not exactly accurate, but as close as any game I’ve played has come.
Having picked locks (legally) I can tell you this is the most discreet way to do it, but by far not the fastest. It also takes a fair bit of practice to get good at feeling which tumblers bind, and when they break to move on to the next.
A rake or bump key is faster, but a lot less discreet, though I’m not sure I should describe how that works. Then again, a Youtube search will get you plenty of people showing you exactly how to do it.
