I was on the train back when I visited my father in New York City, and my ringtone for months now has been ‘Oh! Bitch, I’m Fabulous!’ 

Let me set the scene : it was a mostly silent subway car because it was late night –– When I say late night, I mean that the moon was bright and it could’ve been the perfect setting for a horror movie. Now, I was going from the Bronx to Manhattan, to catch the ferry to Staten Island. It’s a bit of a way.

Anyways, on with the story ––

I forgot my volume was on, you see, and so my father texted me and my ringtone went off in a mostly silent subway that was mostly filled. So, suddenly, loudly bursts out Mark going ‘OH! BITCH I’M FABULOUS!’ from my pocket; I look up in embarrassment and everyone is staring at me.

What came next was rather unexpected.

To my left a kind old man said,’ Yes, dear, you’re fabulous.’ 

A woman to my right said,’ I do agree.’ 

A few teens who had been sitting together, gaming on their phones across from me squinted and went,’ Is that Markiplier?’ 

And this, my acquaintances, is how I got told I was fabulous and met one of my current best friends.

Markiplier has the influence to do crazy things like bring a bunch of people together because one left their volume on while riding a train but I thank the gods for him every day.
