I have lost faith in this country.

I thought we had come so far.

But now through sheer unfathomable ignorance, we put a sad excuse for a man in charge of the country. On the cusp of a bright future, we’ve been dragged back down into the muck of a primitive world of misogyny and xenophobia.

Fuck this country. It failed me, and I feel no loyalty to it anymore.

Having said that, Trump hasn’t defeated me. Trump wins when I give into fear and despair. But rather, I choose to live every waking moment in sheer defiance of him. Not the fiery destructive rage of violence.  But the cold slow burn of determination. I choose to make something of my life, and nothing Trump can do will stop me.

In the simple act of refusing to succumb to fear, I defy Trump. Trump may have won the election, but he won’t win over me. He never will. And with every breath, I spit in his face.
