in Sonic Mania’s Chemical Plant Zone Sonic can get stuck in purple goo platforms. His animation is based on Mighty The Armadillo’s own wall-jump animation from Knuckles’ Chaotix. 

A similar animation was also found within the Sonic Crackers, the the Chaotix concept prototype.
