that guys comment says so much about the american nationalism and attitudes towards other countries 

here in texas if you dont stand up for the pledge, you get sent to the principles office.

In Oregon none of the teachers even made us do the pledge XD

I think there was a teacher once who had us do it on the first day and then never mentioned it again. There was one teacher I heard about in elementary school who had their students do the pledge every morning apparently, but it could have just been a weird rumor.
