Don’t use the #epilepsy tag for your GIFs/animations
(or weird voice/sound recordings)

I know a lot of you people don’t mean harm by using the tag, but the way you are tagging, you are actually not helping at all, which is unfortunate.

What is considered a “seizure warning”? How do we know if it can cause seizure?

Only Noticed your question just Now, i Apologize for that. It’s actually a very good question.

Basic rule of thumb: if it’s super flashy lights at rapid speed - It’s probably photosensitive triggering.

A more detailed explanation:

E.g. rapid color change at a frequent frame rate e.g. that happens more than 3-4 times per second. (As experienced in Pokemon season 1, the episode was never shown outside of Japan and paws were constructed for media after that incident in japan)

E.g. frame rate 24 frames per second. In that one second you have 4-24 flashes of highly contrasting color/lightness.

Strobe lights are also known to trigger seizures, despite most of them being reduced to 4-5 flickers/second.

Also just black white flashing /swirling/flickering, the stuff that is used often in horrorgames for glitching or shock value.

Basically- if it’s hard to look at for you - a non photosensitive person - it’s probably potentially triggering to those who are.

If you want an example of what is photosensitive material, just browse the epilepsy tag images/gifs. That should give you an idea. I don’t recommend it tho.
