Actually, yes. Currently, the people heading the games division of Sony, which is located now in California, is currently heavily censoring games done by Japanese developers. And this censorship is to apply to WORLDWIDE release, so even Japan is affected by this bullshit.

Even better, they’re demanding Japanese developers contact them on THEIR operation times, meaning some developers have to stay up super late in order to contact Sony about how bad their game is going to be butchered. And they also demand the Japanese devs speak English.Suffice to say, Japanese gamers are not amused.

Meanwhile, these games are hitting the Nintendo Switch uncensored. Repeat: NINTENDO…is currently more lax about content….THAN SONY RIGHT NOW.

On top of that there is talk of them just outright banning all Visual Novels as well, because this is the sort of thing people who like making money do I guess
