The cool (bad) thing about capitalism is that like, most companies don’t manufacture their own shit, so everything you buy, like TVs are manufactured using the same parts. If you get a Sony TV and you get a Samsung TV, they were made in the same facility by some underpaid worker.

I explained this about food (I worked in a packing plant for a couple of months, and watched the same raw ingredients get put in the home brand and brand name boxes, to be sold at different prices and marketed at different percentages of the population) to some people in a club and they thought I was making it up and whilst I realize now that 2am when I’m 3 discobikkies down isn’t exactly the best place to explain the intricacies of the myth of the “free market” under capitalism but it made me realise that a disconcerting amount of people don’t want to know

Here’s another intcheresting fact. I once worked at the biggest ice cream factory in the world. We produced the Brand’s ice cream, but also all of the competitors. So if you’re eating like, a Dilly bar from Dairy Queen, that was made in a factory in Iowa, the same place where they make most other pre packaged ice cream products.
